OnePlus clarifies: All OnePlus 12R models come with UFS 3.1 storage
After the launch of the OnePlus 12R last month, the company confirmed that it would use UFS 4.0 for the higher 256GB version. However, after some debates about this UFS type, the company has confirmed that it will be UFS 3.1 for all OnePlus 12R models. That is, both the 128GB and 256GB versions will have the same UFS 3.1 storage.
OnePlus has officially apologized on the community website for this mistake.
However, OnePlus has also clarified that UFS 3.1 storage provides fast speed for closing and launching apps. Let us tell you that last year, both the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 11R smartphones came with UFS 3.1 storage, and their performance is excellent. However, if we compare it with the OnePlus 12, the performance of the OnePlus 12 will definitely be lower.

During the launch of the OnePlus 12R, we announced Trinity Engine, a new set of software algorithms that help keep your phone’s memory and storage running fast and smooth for years to come. Due to an error, we stated that the storage enhanced by Trinity Engine would be UFS 4.0 in some variants. I can now confirm that the storage in all variants of the OnePlus 12R is still enhanced by Trinity Engine but is actually UFS 3.1.
